Senator
Goals
How is it achieved?
SENATOR will deploy an innovative IT system based on a “control tower” approach, allowing dynamic planning and ensuring operative optimisation through a fluent relationship between urban planners, urban freight logistics players and citizen engagement. This platform is called to balance the increasing demand of freight & delivery services with the available fleet´s load capacity and the city´s infrastructure and mobility policies.
The main concept behind the project idea is to create a new urban logistic model focused on the four urban layers (end-receiver, transport, logistics and infrastructure).. Based on a multi-level system model for urban space management promoting sustainability and shared-connected freight and delivery services in cities, SENATOR will optimise the satisfaction of all stakeholders’ needs through empowering their decision-making capacity & prioritising urban mobility by an integrated approach.
In order to test its effectiveness, SENATOR will be validated in a real environment in 2 Living Labs: in Zaragoza (Spain) and Dublin (Ireland).
What was our contribution?
Deusto assumes the technical management of SENATOR, being also responsible of the final ICT Platform implementation coordinating the technological partners´ work. The resulting IT infrastructure will be an innovative technology system that provides a comprehensive 360º solution and a multi-collaborative intelligent network. The scientific efforts will be focused in dynamic and multi-target optimization research applied to dynamic delivery planning and the four services-implementation for the mentioned 4-level scheme.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under Grant Agreement Nº 861540 — SENATOR
