Objetivo
MOUNTADAPT is a Horizon Europe project with 27 European partners, aiming to enhance health system resilience to climate change, focusing on Alpine regions. Building on past initiatives, it will improve climate health predictions and strengthen health professionals' capacity to address climate threats. Solutions will be tested in Austria, Slovenia, Romania, and France.
What was our contribution?
The Mountadapt project is led by the eVIDA research team from the Faculty of Engineering and the DeustoMED research team from the Faculty of Health Sciences, both at the University of Deusto. From June 2024 to May 2027, DeustoMED will focus on creating a training course and awareness campaign on the impact of climate change on health in mountainous areas for health professionals. Meanwhile, eVIDA will develop predictive models using artificial intelligence to forecast adverse climate events and their impact on health, helping professionals prevent and respond to climate-related health threats.
