Project ID: 24059Goals
The main goal of the project is: (1) To transform HEIs into recognized leaders of sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship by 2030. (2) To lead green and digital transformations, fostering inclusive ecosystems where students, staff, and key external stakeholders collaboratively create scalable, market-ready solutions to address critical societal and environmental challenges. (3) To embed a culture of innovation within HEIs, integrating sustainability, digital transformation, and inclusivity into their core strategies. (4) To educate future-ready graduates, launch high-impact startups, and establish university as a pivotal player in regional and global innovation networks because of up-to-date training, strategic partnerships, and collaborative initiatives. (5) To ensure that HEIs are drivers of systemic change, advancing social, economic, and environmental resilience while building Europe’s leadership in global innovation.
What was our contribution?
This two-year project will enhance the University of Deusto’s competitiveness in innovation and entrepreneurship by strengthening institutional capacity and fostering skills in green and digital innovation. Over 200 students and 50 academic and non-academic staff from Deusto and the UNIC alliance will receive training, with 50 students and 17 staff members benefiting from mentoring. Activities—including workshops, lectures, and training modules—will embed diversity, inclusion, and gender equality. The LOTUS team will support startup creation and scaling, build sustainable knowledge-sharing networks, and establish long-term regional, European, and international partnerships to address real-world challenges through applied innovation.
