From a young age, Felipe engaged in technology-related work, including roles as IT support and later as a web developer at the Hospital Base de Valdivia. He also served as an adjunct professor at his alma mater, the Universidad Austral de Chile. Following his undergraduate studies, he worked as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at a telemedicine startup aiming for expansion across Latin America.
Felipe has contributed to various research and development projects, such as developing tools for fisheries resource management and creating mobile applications for mood tracking and block-based coding education. He has also ventured into the real estate and advertising sectors, securing public funding in Chile for these initiatives.
Passionate about technology's potential to enhance quality of life, Felipe joins the DEUSTEK/MORElab team as a pre-doctoral researcher. He will pursue his doctoral thesis within the Horizon Europe GREENGAGE project, focusing on adapting and enhancing the INTERLINK collaborative environment for co-designing and co-monitoring citizen science experiments. His role involves extending this platform with new enablers to facilitate decision-making by integrating and analyzing citizen-collected data alongside climate and pollution information provided by Copernicus.
