    Associate Researcher

    Alejo, holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Catholic University of Uruguay (UCU), a Master's in Environmental Engineering from the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education (Delft, Netherlands), and a PhD in Sustainable Development from Deakin University (Melbourne, Australia). He serves as Chief Operating Officer at the ICT4V Technology Center in Uruguay.

    He was a Research Professor at the Catholic University of Uruguay for nine years, where he also served as Director of the Habitat, Cities and Sustainability Center. At the same institution, he taught various engineering-related courses and was Director of the Master's Program in Sustainable Management of Organizations at the Graduate School.

    His main research interests focus on using remote sensing for environmental monitoring. Beyond academia, he has over eight years of experience managing R&D&I projects in industry, particularly those related to sustainability.

    Alejo joins the Deusto Sustainable Research Group as an Associate Researcher to participate in projects on regional-scale energy and industrial resource planning and to develop a research line in the field of geospatial information and natural resources.
