Samra Sarwar is an urban transportation planner and traffic engineer. She holds a master's degree in transportation engineering (2019) from Budapest University of Technology and Economics. From 2020 and 2024, she worked as a Researcher-Urban Mobility at the Center for Innovation in Transport (CENIT) @ CIMNE-UPC. She has over 5 years of expertise in her field and worked on applications areas such as transportation modeling, traffic management, multimodal mobility, connected and autonomous cars, and 15-minute city. She's been working on European Union projects since 2022. As a Severo Ochoa Research Fellow and PhD Researcher from 2020 to 2024, she experienced different aspects of urban mobility planning, such as simulation and optimization of transportation networks, public transit routes, and devised policies to promote safety, reduce congestion, and increase accessibility. Samra joins Deusto Smart Mobility to collaborate in the TANGENT, CONDUCTOR and SYNCHROMODE projects to support transport modelling and optimisation tasks and to help develop new lines of research at the intersection between transport modelling and Artificial Intelligence.
