Nekane Sainz holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering (University of Deusto, 2001), a Technical Industrial Engineering degree with a specialization in Industrial Electronics (University of Deusto, 1999), and a PhD from the University of Navarra (2005). She has been working as a lecturer and researcher at the University of Deusto since 2005. Her publications and research are mainly focused on communications (networks and communication systems). She has published 10 journal articles and 22 conference papers. Previously, she worked in the area of vehicular communications, and her most recent research focuses on the implementation of Blockchain technology in use cases related to the supply chain and the energy sector. She combines her research work, as part of the Sustainable Research Group, with teaching, delivering courses in Statistics, Physics, and Emerging Technologies Laboratory at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Deusto.
