Magaly has a BA (Bachelor Degree in Arts and Science) from the University of Puerto Rico and a JD (Juris Doctor) from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico.
She has extensive professional experience in both Puerto Rico and Europe in Legal Advising and Consulting for public and private institutions, Communication strategies, outreach initiatives and programs, and scientific event coordination; Management and support of international student, scientific academic and research personnel exchange programs and European R&D projects focused on in mathematics, biotechnology, and digital health within higher education institutions in Spain and Germany.
In Puerto Rico: she has worked as legal advisor for the governmental House of Representatives, the Municipal Affairs Office and for Architectural and Engineering private offices.
In Madrid and Bilbao, Spain: she contributed from the Office of the Presidency to the organization of the ICM2006-International Congress of Mathematicians in Madrid (2004-2005), managed the University of Puerto Rico Exchange Students Program in Spain (2005-2007), and worked as coordinator of Spanish and European projects at the CNB-National Center for Biotechnology (CSIC-Spanish National Research Council) in Madrid (2007-2008). She further honed her skills in communication planning and strategy, outreach initiatives and visitors program management at the the BCAM-Basque Center for Applied Mathematics in Bilbao (2008–2018).
In Erlangen, Germany: she has been associated with the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and its D-hip-Digital Health Innovation Platform (2019-2022), collaborating with Siemens, UniKlinik, and Medical Valley in the use of digital twins to improve personalized diagnoses and treatments, and supporting communication strategies and outreach event coordination. She also worked with the BAYLAT-Bavarian University Centre for Latin America and the the Chair for Dynamics, Control, Machine Learning and Numerics-Alexander von Humboldt Professorship (2022-2024), a service institution of the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and Art, where she promoted scientific research and coordinate international relations in technology and scientific research between Bavaria and Latin America.
Magaly joins the Mathematics Chair to provide administrative support, along with other responsibilities.
