Dr. Deitze Otaduy is a European Projects Manager at DeustoTech, University of Deusto. She is in charge of the identification and development of research projects, both national and international, in the agri-food sector, circular economy and energy as part of the Deusto Sustainable Research Group.
She has participated in many European projects as a researcher. Nowadays, she coordinates high-impact European projects, including the FOODRUS (H2020), and PRECIOUS (Horizon Europe) which aim to shift cultural attitudes and reduce food waste's environmental footprint across Europe for fairer and more sustainable food systems.
Deitze holds a PhD in Science and Technology, focused on “Biosensing for disease monitoring, development of a LSPR biosensor, based on scalable nanofabrication techniques, for Circulating Tumour Cells detection”. She holds an MSc in Applied Photonics from Salford University and an MSc from the University of Cantabria.
She is deeply committed to advancing gender equality in STEM careers. As a mentor in the Inspira STEAM project, she promotes scientific and technological vocations among primary school children.
