Morales Ponce, Roberto Alejandro

Roberto holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Santiago de Chile (2011) and earned his Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences with a focus on Mathematical Modelling from the University of Chile (2019). During his doctoral studies, he completed a ten-month research internship at Université Paul Sabatier III in Toulouse, France (2016–2017). In 2020, he began a three-year postdoctoral position at the Federico Santa María Technical University in Valparaíso, Chile. He later relocated to Spain to take up a postdoctoral research position at the University of Seville, where he has been working from October 2023 to April 2025. His research interests include Control Theory and Inverse Problems, along with their various applications.
Roberto is joining the Chair of Computational Mathematics to work on the mathematical development of efficient models for federated learning.
