Mellado Ibáñez, Álvaro

Álvaro graduated in Biochemistry from the University of Navarra in 2023. Additionally, he holds a Master's degree in Computational Biology from the Technical University of Madrid, obtained in 2024. Currently, Álvaro is immersed in research tasks at the DeustoTech Technological Institute, where he is developing his doctoral thesis in the field of artificial intelligence, focusing on improving model training processes. With a diverse background, Álvaro has worked in sectors such as the wine industry, oncological research in the context of breast cancer, and the development of tools aimed at improving neurorehabilitation therapies for patients with neuromotor problems, among others. His passion for research and the improvement of artificial intelligence drives him to constantly seek new personal challenges. Álvaro will work in the D4K group under an IKUR scholarship to develop his doctoral thesis, "Collective Dreaming: a novel multi-agent reinforcement learning algorithm based on cooperative latent imagination." His research will adapt the latent imagination technique to a collaborative multi-agent approach, enabling all agents to share these "imagined experiences" with each other, thereby accelerating the collective learning process.
