López Garde, Juan Manuel

Juan Manuel López Garde obtained his degree in Telecommunications Engineering, specializing in Radiocommunications, from the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU) in 1993. Since 2022 he holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Deusto (UD). After ten years of professional experience in LABEIN-TECNALIA and ERICSSON, where he worked in different projects of development of test systems for communications equipment, as well as Project Manager of international technology transfer projects, in 2003 he joined the University of Deusto as research teaching staff. He is currently a lecturer in the Department of Information, Electronic and Communication Technologies and a researcher in the DEUSTO SUSTAINABLE RESEARCH GROUP at Deustotech - Deusto Institute of Technology. He teaches Electronics, Industrial Automation, Industrial Communications and Control Systems in the degrees of Industrial Engineering, Electronics and Robotics, and Advanced Statistical Methods in the Master of Engineering in Industrial Organization. In the past he has taught Statistics, Differential Equations, Antennas and Propagation, Microwaves and High Frequency Circuits, Optical Communications, Communications Electronics, Radiocommunication Systems and Telecommunication Systems in Telecommunication Engineering Degrees and Masters. His research activity in the past has been focused on wireless energy harvesting, textile antennas, design and characterization of smart antennas and Wireless Sensor Networks. He is currently working on the modelling of environmental characteristics control systems for the optimization of energy consumption in buildings. He has participated in more than 25 national and international projects.
