Leslabay Martínez, Marcelo

Marcelo Leslabay holds a PhD in Design and Communication from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and a degree in Industrial Design from the National University of La Plata (Buenos Aires).

Since 2012, he has been a professor and researcher at the University of Deusto, where he has promoted the current Degree in Industrial Design Engineering and is part of the Deusto Design Research Group.

For more than twenty-five years, he has directed his studio, Leslabay Design, specializing in curating, designing, and organizing exhibitions. He has organized more than fifty exhibitions and events representing Spanish Design in Europe, the Americas, and Asia.

He is a founding member of DiMad, the Madrid Designers Association, co-created the Ibero-American Design Biennial (BID), and is an active member of Transferencias Design. In 2015, he served on the jury for the National Design Awards.
From 2015 to 2020, he served as Editorial Director of Experimenta, a publishing house specializing in Project Culture, Design, and Communication. He also publishes the journal of the same name. He was a founding partner and Deputy Director of Experimenta between 1992 and 2004.

Since 2020, he has served as Editorial Director of the journals i+Diseño and Umática, academic and scientific publications published by the University of Malaga.
