I am Principal Investigator of the Deusto Sustainable Research Group. I have performed numerical and experimental research in Heat Transfer, Renewable Energy Systems, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Control systems, District Energy, etc., always with my focus in Building Energy performance. Lately, I have been particularly focused on data-driven energy analysis and modeling.

I have a strong background in experimental research, where I have designed and implemented many full-scale experimental works. This knowledge is key in my most recent research in data-driven models and applications. If you understand buildings from a system perspective, you can model these.
Throughout my career, I have witnessed significant changes in building energy, such as the implementation of energy codes, the rise of ventilation technologies, heat recovery, heat pumps, solar systems, rapid digitalization, and the integration of data analytics. I am curious about what comes next.
