Research team

Álex Barco Martelo obtained a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from La Salle-Universitat Ramon Llull in 2010 and a Ph.D. from the same university in 2017, with research stays in Boston at the Center for Engineering Education and Outreach at Tufts University and in Panama City at the Ann Sullivan Center of Panama. From 2017 to 2020, he pursued a postdoctoral fellowship at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research at the University of Amsterdam as part of a project funded by the European Research Council, also completing a research stay in New Zealand at the University of Auckland. His research interests focus on social and assistive robotics, promoting STEAM vocations among young people, and service-learning initiatives.
