Laura Arjona is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Deusto. She received the PhD from the University of Deusto, M.Sc degree from the UNED university, and B.Sc in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Granada. Laura was awarded two different postdoctoral fellowships. Firstly she was awarded with the Washington Research Foundation Innovation Postdoctoral Fellow in Neuroengineering, where she developed a wireless communication protocol for backscattered-based neural implants working at the Paul. G. Allen School of Computer Science and Engineering (University of Washington, Seattle). Next, she was awarded with a Juan de La Cierva postdoctoral research fellowship, working on developing non-invasive digital health applications for ambient assisted living, in particular, to help diagnose lower urinary tract symptoms with sound-based uroflowmetries. Her research interests and expertise include wireless, mobile, and remote sensing to promote health and wellbeing , and embedded systems.
