Dr. Manuel Amador Cervera holds a degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Cádiz (UCA), a Master’s in Environmental Engineering from the University of Seville (US), and a PhD in Sustainability and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) from the University of Deusto. His academic journey began with his undergraduate studies, during which he gained experience in research and laboratory work in the Environmental Technologies Department at UCA, contributing to a project optimizing biogas production from wastewater treatment sludge.
Building on this foundation, his master’s thesis focused on the Product Environmental Footprint in alignment with European Commission guidelines, paving the way for his specialization in Life Cycle Assessment and Circular Economy. Manuel further honed his expertise through an internship with a consultancy firm, where he applied these concepts in practical contexts.
Currently, Manuel works as a researcher at Deustotech (University of Deusto), where he has participated in various cutting-edge research projects. His doctoral thesis, completed at this institution, centers on the sustainability of food waste prevention, showcasing his dedication to developing innovative solutions for a more sustainable future. One of his current research lines focuses on integrating LCA with System Dynamics to incorporate the temporal variable into these models, a critical aspect and cornerstone of Circular Economy strategies.
