Ainhoa Alonso has been the Director of DeustoTech, the Technological Research Institute at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Deusto since 2023. Previously, she led the Energy Unit at the Institute from 201 1 to 201 9 and has been the Principal Investigator of the Deusto Sustainable Research Group from 201 9 to 2023. She has authored over a hundred publications in scientific journals and conference presentations, and has participated in more than 50 national and international research projects in the fields of energy, sustainability, and the circular economy. Recently, she coordinated the H2020 Waste4Think project, recognised by the European Commission as an example of innovation and the integration of gender dimensions in circular economy projects. She is currently coordinating the H2020 FoodRUs project, aimed at reducing food waste across the entire supply chain, and leading the development of the digital platform for the H2020 TONOWASTE project to identify the best prevention solutions according to sustainability criteria.
